Scents of the week Jul 26 – Aug 1

In the Facebook Fragrance Friends group, they’re doing a theme called Ramen Budget week, which just means Cheapies, lol. Basically, any perfume under $50. I have lots of these, so it was fairly easy for me. Here are the ones I wore this week:

Sunday: Kate Spade Truly Timeless
Top notes: aldehydes and cotton flower
Middle note: neroli
Base notes: cedar and white musk

I have a Scentbird decant of this, and actually, I think this is discontinued. But you can find some of the others in this line for $35 at some of the discounters, and I’ve seen mini sets of the 4 Truly scents on Mercari. When I first smelled this, I was in heaven. This is how I want to smell all the time. Unfortunately it doesn’t last very long. I wish I had a full size of it, so I could spray as often as I wanted to.

Monday: Raghba by Lattafa
Agarwood (oudh), musk, vanilla, sugar, sandalwood, and incense.
I got this for $27 on Amazon. It’s a gorgeous deep, resin-y scent. The vanilla and sugar are most prominent for me. After dry down, the musk, oudh, and incense come out more. It lasts for several hours on my skin.

Tuesday: Still by JLo
Top notes of white pepper, mandarin, Earl Grey tea, and sake. Heart notes: freesia, rose, jasmine, orange blossom, and lily-of-the valley. The base notes are woody with sandalwood, musk, amber, orris, and pepper accords.
I got this one on sale at FragranceNet for $16.79. I think this perfume is great for hot days, but I’m not sure I’ll keep this one. I like it, but I don’t really love it. It’s fresh and invigorating, while still being elegant. It doesn’t have great longevity, and I feel like I have other perfumes to wear on hot days that I like more.

Wednesday: Sneaky Clean by Love Potion Perfumes
a heart of elegant white lilac and magnolia is blended with a fuzzy soap accord and a sheer base of vanilla musk with a sweet touch of cactus flower honey. Mine is an older bottle with the pheromone Super Sexy for Women, but the current bottles have the pheromone Lumina, which I actually like better.
You can buy this at Love Potion Perfumery for $32.95, and any order over $24.95 has free shipping! It’s a clean, fresh scent, and so pretty. It’s a great everyday type of fragrance.

Thursday: Love by Sofia Vergara
Mandarin, passion fruit, orange blossom Morocco natural, magnolia, purple Andean orchid, Columbian coffee flower, amberwood, vanilla, ambrette seeds
I’ve read lots of reviews that say this is a dupe for Black Opium, or even Bonbon, but I can’t really speak to that. This is a sweet gourmand type of scent. I really like it. The longevity isn’t great, but you can get a huge bottle for around $20 either on Amazon or FragranceNet, so spray away.

Friday: Éclat d’Arpège by Lanvin
The velvety sweetness of lilac and peach blossoms, with a subtle base of cedar and white musk
This one was $23 on FragranceNet. It’s very fresh, kind of a light floral-citrusy scent. Again, a nice everyday type of fragrance. It lasts for a few hours.

Saturday: Prada La Femme
Frangipani, Honey, Tuberose, Ylang Ylang, Vetiver, Vanilla
This is not really a cheapie, although I got a decant from Scentbird for way less than $50. But FragranceNet does have a full bottle for $41.59. My husband and I took our puppies to the beach for a quick getaway, and I remember thinking this was a good summer scent, so I wore this. In hindsight, it wasn’t a good pick. I think I should have worn Beach Walk, or Bel Azur.

I love doing theme weeks, and if FFF doesn’t continue doing them, I may have to think up some of my own! What perfumes did you wear this week? Do you have any ideas for theme weeks? Tell me in the comments below:
