Love Potion Perfumes Summer 2020 releases

Love Potion Magickal Perfumerie released their Summer 2020 collection, and they all looked so good, I had to order the whole sample set! This set is very limited, only a few bottles were made of each scent, so if you see something you might like, order it right away! Love Potion Perfumes has a number of Permanent Collection scents for both men and women (and many unisex scents), but the majority of their perfumes are limited editions.

This is not a sponsored post – I purchased this set

Make sure to click on each name to check out the awesome bottle labels! (and if you’re into little stories, read them in alphabetical order, as below – there’s a continuing story in each description on the LPMP webpage)

Altar of Venus: the tropical tangyness of guavaberry and lovely feminine hibiscus blended with a humid breath of Amazonian teakwood. Enhanced with Treasured Hearts pheromone blend.
I had to go back and make sure I put this one on – I’m not getting any of the floral or fruity notes. At least, not really. I think I’m mostly getting teakwood – but you know what it smells like? It smells like when you go into a new age store, and you can smell the candles, and the books, and all the other cool scents, all mingled together.

Bower of Bliss: Leafy vines interwoven with blossoming tendrils of sweet honeysuckle and gardenia, upon a soft cushion of fresh green grass with a hint of briny mist upon the breeze.
I did not expect to like this as much as I do… the green notes and the seawater really make this an intriguing floral scent. I like honeysuckle, but gardenia is sometimes iffy on me. I could see myself wearing this, esp on an upcoming trip to the coast.

Credentials: A unisex blending of wood notes enlivened with the citrus shine of lemon, lime and orange blossom, smoothed with a dusting of white musk and a dash of coconut. Enhanced with Swimming with Sharks pheromone blend.
I really like this one! It could definitely be unisex, although it does lean a bit masculine. Bright, slightly spicy wood – it kind of smells like it could be a fancy men’s body care scent, I’d love to have this in a soap or lotion. Or a bath bomb!

Crown Jewels: This scent is a unisex melding of dry vanilla and smoked sugar cane enfolded by a trio of rich oud attars, dark amber and Indian black musk attar.
This is GORGEOUS! I love it on me, but I can’t wait to try it on my husband, too. It’s smooth and understated-sexy. Deep without being too dark. If he likes it, I may get us a bottle to share.

Cupid’s Cathedral: an intriguingly exotic vanilla infused with floral accents coupled with the lush blooms of stargazer lilies embracing upon a bed of woody balsam resin.
This one is the surprise hit of the bunch for me. I always thought I hated the smell of lilies. But stargazer lily is spicy! This perfume is soooo pretty. I couldn’t stop smelling my arm – I’d definitely like to have a bottle!

Cyprian Sceptre: a masculine bracing and bold mixture of arid desert and fresh-cut grass varieties with sea moss, breezy accents of ozone and aquatic notes, then intensified by a broad-leaf cigar tobacco accord.
Mmmm… I can’t wait to smell this on my husband! I do think it might be too masculine for me to wear, but I love smelling it! It’s such a unique scent – the green notes with the spicy tobacco, and the aquatic/ozone vibe. It’s got a lot going on, but it still works.

Fancy Article: a variety of tart and fresh-cut pineapple oils encountering herbal white sage, silky smooth white musk and a whisper of dry vanilla.
I think I might have to try this one again at some point. When I had it on, I couldn’t even tell that it was pineapple, other than a bit of fruity-sweetness. The sage, musk, and vanilla stuck around the longest, and the drydown was nice.

Field of Dreams: (a variant of Tunnel of Love) rich coconut cream blended with golden swirls of Spring and Midsummer honey and  thick honeycomb wearing a flowery crown of lovely pikaki blossoms. Enhanced with Aja and Hedione.
I love Tunnel of Love, and the addition of the pikaki blossoms really changes it – the sweet creaminess is still there, but the floral is the star here. The honey makes itself known the first few hours but after it dries down, it’s not as prominent.

Mount Pleasant: juicy ripe mango layered with sparkling pink and ruby red grapefruit oils, given a splash of sheer coconut, lounging upon smooth tropical sandalwood.
To my nose, this is exactly how it’s described. Fruity first, with the tang of grapefruit, then the soft coconut and sandalwood. It’s kind of making me long for a tropical drink!

Mrs. Fubb’s Parlour: a glass of sparkling champagne infused with a fresh-picked strawberry, accompanied by scrumptious sugary cake slathered in crystalline honey buttercream frosting. Enhanced with La Femme Noire pheromone blend.
I am not a fan of fizzy scents… Behind the fizz, I can detect some of the strawberry sweetness. I’ll come back to this later, if I can, and hopefully describe it after the fizz calms down. (It never really did, I kept getting wafts of fizz for hours, lol)

Petticoat Lane: a blending of powdery musk, oakmoss and myrrh sweetened with a sprinkle of white sugar and a dusting of powdered sugar.
If you’ve tried Spider Silk or Gossamer Threads, this is very similar. Soft and slightly sweet. A bit powdery, and very much like a sheer veil of sweet musk..

Pink Pearl: Refreshing ripe watermelon dusted with fruity sweet pretty pink sugars and swathed in luxurious feminine white musk.
Egods, this is good! So pink, so sweet, so fun.. it’s mostly melon and musk to me. I don’t know if I’d wear it enough to buy a bottle, but I’m going to keep and enjoy my sample.

Thatched Cottage: an atmosphere of honeysuckle blossoms, their petals heavy with rain, tart blackberries still ripening within their brambles, the sharp ozone of the lightning flash across the sky, enfolded within a soft dewy musk.
I can’t get any honey from this, or musk. On my arm, it’s mostly honeysuckle and a tiny bit of blackberry. I do get the rain & ozone, it makes it a little sharp. Perhaps after drydown, it will even out a bit more.

Tunnel of Love: Rich coconut cream sensually swirled with Spring and Midsummer honey and honeycomb varieties
The coconut cream is so gorgeous, and the honey is almost light and airy. It smells amazing, and lasts pretty well on my skin.

Did anyone catch the theme of this summer’s release? Let me know in the comments below, lol
