Next month, our grandson is going to be here! We’re so excited!
My daughter and son-in-law told us the happy (and surprising) news in July 2019.

So, what’s the first thing a new Grandma has to do? Pick her Grandma name, of course!
I was born in Alaska, and I’m half Inupiat. The Inupiaq name for Grandma is Aaka. So I’ve decided that Aaka will be my Grandma name – at least until the baby starts calling me something else, lol.
I was raised by my paternal grandparents. I called my grandma Grama. It was easy and informal. I called my grandpa Gogi. Not sure how I came up with that, but his name was Gordon, maybe I heard my Grama say that, lol.
Are you a grandparent? What’s your Grandma (or Grandpa) name? Did you have a special name for your grandparents? Tell me in the comments below:
The joke in our house is that I am grandma to my eldest’s newly adopted furball, Pickles. She calls me Grandma in cat language 😂
Congrats to your family.

I have grand dogs and grand kitties, too. I wasn’t sure if I was getting any others, lol
